Joe A. Vargas, O.D.
Optometrist Dr. Joe Vargas has been serving the Mendocino County community since 2003. Dr. Vargas obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California at Davis in 1991 and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University Of Houston School of Optometry in 1996. After working in the Bay Area for several years, Dr. Vargas returned to Ukiah and opened his own private practice.
Dr. Vargas appreciates the opportunity to serves the entire community, but especially the vision care needs of the area youth and Spanish speaking population.
Dr. Vargas is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the Redwood Empire Optometric Society. Outside the office, Dr. Vargas enjoys classic cars and motorcycles, attending sporting events and collecting antiques and anything old.
Antonio F. Moran, O.D.
Dr. Moran is from the Napa Valley and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. He is a bilingual Doctor of Optometry fluent in English and Spanish allowing him to serve the local diverse community and surrounding areas. Dr. Moran has 18 years of experience providing comprehensive vision care.
Dr. Moran believes the most important aspect of vision and eye care is taking the time to know his patients, answer their questions, and explain diagnosis and treatment options in a concise manner easily understood by them. In addition to his education and professional background, he has a passion and drive for serving, educating, and contributing to the health and well-being of his patients. Dr. Moran is an advocate for medical team collaboration to ensure the highest quality of patient care and service.
In his spare time, Dr. Moran teaches Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha dance classes in Sonoma County. He especially enjoys spending time with his family.
